How this budget works

Monthly items repeat in each active month. Quarterly items fall every three months from their first month; yearly and one-off items fall in their first active month. Weekly and fortnightly amounts are averaged using 52 weeks or 26 fortnights per year, with rounding distributed across months.

The opening balance plus planned income minus planned expenses produces the forecast closing balance. Actuals are entered manually and do not replace the planned forecast. Record transfers, borrowing or other cash movements as separate items if they should affect your balance. This is a planning budget, with no automatic bank feed or tax calculation.
